What is "Green"?
"Green" and "Eco-Friendly" can mean many things. For some, it is about recycling and reducing our carbon footprint. For others, it is about health and the things that we allow into our bodies. Yet, for others, it is the use of resources, like energy and gas, and how we conserve them for future generations. Each of us makes our own choices as to what level we will add green elements into our lives and at what price.
Why choose Studio Marler for your Green cabinetry?
Looking to both the present and our future, we desire to create an environment that is healthy and conscious of the world we live in. At Studio Marler, sustainable and green cabinetry means utilizing resources responsibly and efficiently. It also means providing healthier closets, vanities, media systems, home offices, and kitchens by designing with quality building products.
At our company, we look at three components to making up a green cabinet - the substrate, the color, and the finish. As a substrate or panel, we build our lines with Arreis, a sustainable density fiberboard, designed by Sierra Pines. Arreis is manufactured with 100% post-industrial recycled wood residuals and meets the most stringent formaldehyde emission standards. Studio Marler will also build with solid Bamboo or Plywood using PureBond, also made with no added urea-formaldehyde.
The color or stain is about the finished exterior material. In a cabinet there is the inside and outside finish. Our standard interior is maple print, which is a water-based dye colored with the look of maple. We use this for a smooth, easy to clean interior.
The exterior wood gives your cabinets the feel you are looking to achieve. These solid wood choices range from Cherry to Beech or Maple, with many stain options available. In all cases, there is an option to use FSC Certified Lumber. We also recommend our reconstituted veneers. These are made with a water soluable dye, which completely penetrates the wood, giving a complete color change and replication of the "real thing".

Studio Marler is proud to offer strong, durable and environmentally friendly Bamboo in three natural colors - Chocolate, Amber and Natural. Fast to regenerate, Bamboo can be continuously re-harvested every 3 years, without causing damage to the plant system and surrounding environment.
Our finishes, the area that can produce the highest level of toxic emissions, are created using an ultraviolet process that almost eliminates these "smells" that can permeate your home and office. Our water-based solvent finish is as strong as a conversion varnish, and has the same baked-on finish.
In manufacturing we also take a responsible approach. It is our philosophy to produce our products regionally, utilizing facilities that provide jobs locally, reducing carbon emissions with deliveries. Our facilities are constantly checked for quality of workmanship allowing us to provide a continuously beautiful product to our clients.
What all of this means to you and your family is better indoor air quality, an environmentally-friendly product, and a cabinet that can stand the test of time and everyday use.
